Your walk belongs to you.

SkintWalk uses the places and route choices you enter to prepare a walking route. When you press the location-check button, your browser asks permission to use your device location. SkintWalk does not continuously track you.

What is shared with route services?

Place searches, route coordinates and nearby-place searches are sent to our mapping providers so the requested route can be calculated. The beta currently uses openrouteservice by HeiGIT and OpenStreetMap/Overpass data. These services may process technical information such as an IP address under their own policies.

What we keep

Approved beta testers use the shared Two Skint Studio sign-in. When you choose Save this walk project, SkintWalk stores the route, map line, directions, useful stops, parking and travel notes in our shared Supabase project under your own user identifier. Strict database ownership rules restrict each signed-in tester to their own projects. A browser copy is kept as a fallback and existing browser-saved projects are migrated without deleting the original local data. A locally entered developer key, where shown in workshop copies, stays only in that browser.

Saved cloud projects remain until you remove them or ask us to delete them. Removing one clears its walk payload while retaining a minimal deletion marker so an older browser backup cannot accidentally restore it. Supabase provides the beta authentication and private project storage. If you email a problem report, we keep the details you send so we can investigate it.

Your choices

You can refuse location permission and still plan a route. You can remove a saved project inside SkintWalk and clear locally stored website data in your browser. For privacy questions or deletion requests, email beta@twoskintstudio.co.uk.
